A prize of $750.00 and publication in The Ocotillo Review Winter 2019 will be awarded for a poem of up to 65 lines. Submit up to three poems of no more than 65 lines each with a $20.00 entry fee by August 20, 2018. All entries will be considered for publication. All entrants will receive a copy of the journal containing the prize winning poem. Carrie Fountain will judge.  A portion of any revenue generated will be donated to Cancer Research at  M. D. *Submit up to 3 poems of up to 65 lines each. We consider the title and space between stanzas as lines. Please include all poems in one document. Begin each poem on a new page.  

*All work must be original and unpublished Work posted on blogs, social media or self-published in any form are considered published. 

* We only accept submissions through Submittable. 

*Do not put your name or other identifying info in the document or the submission title. 

*Submitting in multiple genres is acceptable as long as the entry fee is paid for each category. 

*We prefer Word documents in a 12pt Times New Roman font. *We welcome the expression of diverse voices, diverse cultures. Please do not send hate speech or pornography. 

*See specific guidelines for each genre. 

*We do accept simultaneous submissions for The 2018 Julia Darling Memorial Poetry Prize with the agreement that you will retract it if it is accepted elsewhere  

*Do not include images.  

*Kallisto Gaia Press reserves First North American Serial Rights. All other rights revert to author upon publication with the understanding that The Ocotillo Review will be credited as the original publisher if the poem is published elsewhere. 

* Students and colleagues of the judge are not eligible to enter the contest.  

*Failure to abide by the guidelines will result in the disqualification of the entry and the entry fee will not be refunded.
