A prize of $1000.00, a one year subscription to Duotrope, and publication in The Ocotillo Review Volume 4.1 (Winter 2020) will be awarded for a short story. Submit one story of less than 4200 words with a $20.00 entry fee by August 31, 2018. All entries will be considered for publication. All entrants will receive a copy of the The Ocotillo Review Volume 4.1 containing the winning story. Michael Noll will judge. A portion of any revenue generated will be donated to the Michael J. *All work must be original and unpublished. Work posted on blogs, social media or self-published in any form are considered published.
*We only accept submissions through Submittable.
*Do not put your name or other identifying info on the document or the submission title.
*Submissions in multiple genres are acceptable as long as the reading fee is paid for each category.
*We prefer Word documents in a 12pt Times New Roman font - double spaced.

*We accept simultaneous submissions for The 2019 Chester B. Himes Memorial Short Fiction Prize with the agreement that you will retract it if it is accepted elsewhere. The entry fee is not refundable.
