A prize of $1000.00, a one year subscription to Duotrope, and publication in The Ocotillo Review Volume 4.1 (Winter 2020) will be awarded for a poem of up to 65 lines. Submit up to three poems of no more than 65 lines each with a $20.00 entry fee by August 31, 2019. All entries will be considered for publication. All entrants will receive a copy of the journal containing the prize winning poem. Natalia Treviño will judge. A portion of any revenue generated will be donated to Cancer Research at M. D. *All work must be original and unpublished. Work posted on blogs, social media or self-published in any form are considered published.

*Submitting in multiple genres is acceptable as long as the entry fee is paid for each category.
*We prefer Word documents in a 12pt Times New Roman font - single spaced except between stanzas. Unique or experimental formatting is allowed as long as we can reproduce it on our 5.5"X8.5" pages
*We welcome the expression of diverse voices and diverse cultures. We do not publish hate speech or pornography. Kallisto Gaia Press reserves the right to define those terms.

*We accept simultaneous submissions for The 2019 Chester B. Himes Memorial Short Fiction Prize with the agreement that you will retract it if it is accepted elsewhere. The entry fee is not refundable.

*Kallisto Gaia Press reserves first international serial rights and the right to publish online in perpetuity. All other rights revert to author upon publication.
